Levy Lee Simon launched his memoir, “Odyssey Towards the Light: Book 1,” with a literary, conversational, and musical event. Known for “The Bow Wow Club” and his Broadway performance in “The Kentucky Cycle,” Simon adds author to his titles, unveiling a memoir that traces his life from Harlem in the ’70s to HBCUs, professional theatre, Broadway, and a transformative journey back to the light. The event at Greenway Court Theatre featured entertainment, dialogues, and reveals, captivating an elite audience.

Simon’s memoir, a poignant “odyssey,” emerged from a seven-year memoir writing workshop with novelist Jill Schary Robinson. On December 8th, 2023, Simon opened the portal, captivating readers with excerpts from his 354-page memoir, promising a Book 2. The event hosted by Cindy Marinangel featured musical performances by Michael Camacho and Kaylene Peoples, followed by a riveting interview with NY Times Best-Selling author Laura Cathcart Robbins.

Levy Lee Simon’s book launch attracted a diverse audience, including Lawrence Hilton Jacobs, Patricia Gillum, Rico Anderson, Roberta Freeman, Ty Granderson Jones, and Kevin Foster. “Odyssey Towards the Light” received acclaim from actress Tanna Frederick, AGENDA Magazine, and actor Keith Randolph Smith. The successful evening concluded with Simon greeting guests and signing books.
